Does it sometimes feel that in life that things just are not fair? That there is no justice? In the parable of the Wheat and the Weeds, Jesus makes it clear that there will be a day of justice and for those that are followers of Jesus, it will be a great day. For those that reject Jesus, it will be a very bad day. Believers and unbelievers co-exist in this world, but that will not be the case in the next. Even as the final judgement looms, the mission of the church stays the same. We are not to judge, but be about the work of sowing the seed of God’s Word that weeds can be turned to wheat that all can escape the final day of judgment.

Did you know that you have unlimited value? That you have a treasure more valuable than all the wealth of this world combined? In the parable of the pearl of great price and the buried treasure, Jesus lays out for us what really is most valued in this life and eternity. It is something that I believe we often take for granted. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we really are more wealthy they Bill Gates or Jeff Bezos. The gift that Jesus gives to us, also outlasts this life. As we really understand the value of the faith Jesus has given us, our lives will also be even more dedicated to share the treasure with others as we realize how amazing blessed we are.

Have you ever worried about not having what you need in life? Have you been stressed out on how you are going to have the essential things you need in this world? We have a God who loves us more than we could ever imagine. If he can take a few loaves and fish and feed 20,000 people, He has the ability to help provide the basics you need in this life and even more importantly abundantly more in the next. He has a way of allowing us to receive what we need at the right time. Maybe not always in our timing, but He knows what is best for us and helps us to grow even in those times when there is scarcity. In fact through Him we are always living in abundance.

Do you like to play it safe in life? Do you like to live inside your own comfort zone? To be honest, Jesus makes it clear that true adventure happens when we step out of the boat and onto the water. When we step out in faith in Jesus, the impossible can become the possible and the true and joyful adventurous life can be experienced. Too many people are spectators when Jesus is calling us out of the bleachers and onto the field. It’s time to learn how to walk on water like Peter did when he had his eyes on Jesus.
