St. Mark Serves!

A fantastic time was had by the team at Feed My Starving Children on October 22. St Mark's 14 volunteers packed or supported the production of 28 boxes... a total of 6,048 meals bound for some of our Lord's neediest. Great work!

Also, what a sight it was to see the youngest ones in the group step up to provide some serious, focused output. Working with these little dynamos was a real pleasure.

Save the date!

Our next volunteer sessions will be January 21 and April 22.

Throughout the world many children are starving. Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children under 5 years of age. God wants us to look outward and to help others, regardless of where they live. St. Mark members (including children ages 8 and up, with a parent) volunteer regularly at Feed My Starving Children. Volunteers help hand-pack meals. Meals are then donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved!

St Mark packed at three sessions in 2022, putting up 63 boxes total with 37 volunteers. That's 13,608 meals!

St. Mark knows how important it is to help people with their basic and essential needs. Harvest Compassion Center welcomes donations of personal hygiene and food items. It is also an excellent place to take your donations of gently used clothing/shoes/purses (all seasons, all sizes). Click here to see the HCC Amazon Wish List for their current “Most Needed Items,” shop from the comfort of your own home and have the items shipped directly to the Center.

Harvest Compassion Center has three locations. The HCC North Phoenix location is at 4744 E. Thunderbird Road, Suite 9 (Tatum and Thunderbird, behind Spencer’s TV & Appliances). Knit Wits

Knit Wits meet in the Fellowship Hall the first Saturday of every month from noon to 2 p.m.

In 2022, over 1200 hats were made. The hats were donated to hospitals, Arizona Helping Hands and the With Child Center. We have been very productive and look forward to finding more ministry outlets. If you’re not able to attend the monthly meeting, you can still make hats at home. If you are interested in joining the group or have questions, contact Dottie Hoffman at missions@stmarkphx.org.

TABITHA QUILTERS

Tabitha Quilters

Tabitha Quilters meets the first and third Thursdays of every month from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Tabitha made 50 large quilts in 2022 and eight pillowcases for Arizona Helping Hands. We have seven volunteers. Tops to the quilts are sewn by a few volunteers and the quilts are tied at our twice-monthly meetings. All of the fabric used is donated. Anyone is welcome to come and join us. We have a prayer, devotion, a small business meeting and then fellowship as we tie. Please email Janice Kjesbo at missions@stmarkphx.org for more information about this group.
